375/444 Healing from Infidelity: Saturday Play

My friend, Jenn put this quote out today from Mr. Rogers,

Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.

I believe there is something in here for us as adults too. Play is a serious way to connect with God. The naysayers will say they are responsible adults now and don't play. I'd say play doesn't equal irresponsibility. Separate issues. So play. If you are irresponsible get a daytimer and schedule some time to play. If you are overly responsible or overly busy throw your daytimer to the side and go play.

The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.  ~Mark 10:13-16
