What is Sexual Intimacy?

As the scientist of this duo (Ann), I looked to the dictionary to see how sex is defined. It says it is "Physical union of male and female genitalia accompanied by rhythmic movements leading to the ejaculation of semen from the penis into the female reproductive tract." Wow...pretty devoid of emotion, connection and feeling, huh? No spiritual context whatsoever for the intimate encounter between a man and a woman that God set before Adam and Eve 'in the beginning'. 

In Genesis 1, immediately after creating Adam and Eve, male and female, "God blessed them: Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take Charge!". Chapter 1 of the whole entire Bible includes a reference to sex. It's amazing to me that one of the first blessings God bestows on us as men and women is the blessing of sex. And what have we done with it? Not very good things, I'm afraid. And so we will spend some time redeeming this blessing, because, you know, God says not long after His encouragement to reproduce, that "He looked over everything he had made; it was so good, so very good!"
