261/444 Healing from Infidelity: Spiritual Intimacy 14, Be Creative
2012.05.23
As a young believer who was told I was to be the spiritual head of my house, I felt woefully inadequate. What did I know about the bible? As leader I should know everything it says, right? Ridiculous, I know, but that was my internal world.
Now, I feel much more relaxed about connecting with Ann spiritually. Sometimes it is looking at scripture but other times we enjoy seeing God in lots of places. I believe the gospel is at the core of the universe, so we can see it everywhere if we have eyes to see.
Ann and I connect spiritually on walks through the trees and by the ponds. We connect via music. Ann is really loving some Mandisa lately. She's been dancing up a storm to Good Morning. I enjoy watching her have so much fun. We drove an hour with the top down on the Mustang to see the movie, Blue Like Jazz. We talk about what God is up to in our hearts. And we share scripture with one another sometimes when it impacts us. Other times, we have our own devotionals and continue to walk out our individual journeys.
God is called our Creator. We are his Creation made in his image. That means all of us are creators too. So often we defer to the 'artists' to create. I say this is cutting off important aspects of our souls. You, yes you, are a creator, an artist. In Ephesians 2:10 it tells us we are God's poema or poem. Often, this word is translated workmanship. Workmanship loses some of the richness of the meaning. You, yes you, are a work of art made by God. Be creative, it is in your DNA.
