80/444 Healing from Infidelity: Female Gender 2

Ann
On this Thanksgiving Day in 2011 I am thankful that as a woman I am designed to be relational.
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
~Genesis 2:18
Helper? Really? That's it?!
It turns out our English is woefully inadequate for this translation. The Hebrew is 'ezer kenegdo'. It means something more like lifesaver. And every other time it is used in the Old Testament it refers to God. When you are in desperate times you need an 'ezer kenegdo'.
As women we are blessed to literally bring life into this world. According to this passage we also are created to bring life that is so desperately needed to the men in our lives as his 'ezer kenegdo'. In a way, our men need rescued and God has deemed us worthy be their lifesavers.
In other words, God realized that He was not enough for Adam. Adam needed someone else to help bring forth what is good in his soul. So God created woman. He created us so that Adam would have a companion, an 'ezer kenegdo', a lifesaver. Our men and our world can't live without us.
