My trip to Afghanistan was worth it. It was a great experience. Playing golf there was the thrill of a lifetime. Lots of people have played St. Andrews and Muirfield and Carnoustie like I did last year. Not many people have teed it up here on the outskirts of Kabul.
A real treasure, a real treat was getting time with the Afghan people who don't gripe about how high the greens are mowed or a little indention in the fairway. Those who know golf are thrilled about it. Rocks and sand and Russian tanks and portable astroturf. Priceless.
