This is off topic, but just wanted to share it with you. The waterfall to the left (click on it for a closer view) pours majestically above the 18th green where I had a wonderful day playing in a charity golf tournament at Sanctuary Golf Course.
Sanctuary is one of the top 50 courses in the country and was built by the founder of REMAX. It is a private course which exists primarily to host fundraisers for charities. It is located just a few miles from Castle Pines where they play the PGA International Golf Tournament each year. The course is in immaculate condition and has numerous elevation changes with fantastic views of the Rocky Mountains west of Denver and Colorado Springs. Best of all it is built in the middle of a wildlife preserve which means it is beautiful and peaceful with no houses lining the fairways.
I loved it.
The event was held to raise money for Project C.U.R.E. "It reclaims medical supplies and equipment that would otherwise fill warehouses or be carelessly discarded and uses them to save lives." They send medical supplies at no cost to over ONE HUNDRED countries in the world. They are highly volunteer staffed with only a 2% overhead. Many charities are at 50% or more. This means if you donate, your money goes to provide medical treatment to extremely poor people at hospitals around the world and not to a gorged bureaucratic staff. They are highly involved in caring for the many orphans whose families are victims of the Aids virus in Africa. Other countries on other continents are served too.
They are looking for volunteers in their many sorting centers throughout the US and they have one in the UK.
If you are seeking a place to make a difference I encourage you to check them out.
